NSBE DC Professionals with College Students at the Brunch and Build 2018

NSBE DC Professionals with College Students at the Brunch and Build 2018

The College Initiative (CI) program bridges the gap between collegiate and professional members by establishing strong relationships and holding events with several Washington DC metro area colleges and universities. We support collegiate NSBE chapters by providing students with professional development, mentorship, and community service opportunities.

IMPACT Program

The Inspiring Mentorship through Professional, Academic, and Community Training (IMPACT) Program offers a variety of engaging workshops. The aim is to connect Professional and Collegiate members through facilitated workshops at college campuses. Collegiate Members can submit a request for workshops for their chapter meetings, conferences, or special events. Professionals who are interested in being a speaker can register their workshop, which will be added to a workshop database managed by the CI Committee.

The Ambassadors Program

The CI Ambassadors serve as a liaison between the Professional and Collegiate chapters. This is an opportunity for our NSBE DC members to have more intimate connections with local collegiate chapters. 1-2 members are connected to a specific chapter, in which they attend collegiate events and keep the lines of communication between the chapter and NSBE DC. Email ci@nsbedc.org for more information on how to get involved.

Brunch and Build

Our signature annual CI event; The Brunch and Build is an afternoon of networking and skill building for college students in the greater DC Metro area. Attendees eat and engage in stimulating conversation with topics that are both relatable and thought-provoking! This is a great opportunity for college students to connect with professionals over brunch and discuss how to succeed in college and professional life, with focus areas such as current events, cultural identity, personal growth, and mental health.
