The Executive Board provides strategic leadership and governance to support the mission and long-term vision of the NSBEDC. Comprised of experienced professionals and community leaders, the board offers guidance, oversight, and expertise to help advance initiatives that strengthen entrepreneurship, economic opportunity, and community development.
Solomon Mason
President
Solomon Mason is an innovative professional who is experienced in project management, business operations, and organizational sustainability. He is a strong analytical thinker with a drive to solve problems and increase efficiency.
As a recognized leader in NSBE, serving in various positions over the past decade, Solomon knows how to leverage creative business practices and strategic problem solving to implement culturally responsible programming. He is a proud DC resident and active NSBE member who is so excited to continue the great 30 year legacy of this chapter serving professionals in the DMV area!
Randall Norfleet
Vice President
Randall Norfleet is a graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a Health Information Technology Concentration. Randall currently serves as a Cybersecurity Lead for a government contractor in the Washington DC area.
Randall has been a member of NSBE since his second undergrad stint often seen advising students and recent graduates with regards to professional development since 2012. In his free time Randall enjoys traveling, playing pool, hanging out with friends, fantasy football, among other hobbies.
Jethro Dely
Treasurer
Jethro Dely graduated from UMass-Boston and Cleveland State University, where he obtained his graduate degree in economics. He has held several professional roles, including data scientist, economist, and analyst.
He is deeply committed to NSBE’s mission and is excited about the opportunity to serve as Treasurer. Jethro hopes to make a lasting impact on the lives of Black engineers and the broader community.
Teisha Cox
Secretary
Teisha Cox is a graduate from Bowie State University with a background in digital forensics and cybersecurity. With a passion for professional deveoplemnt, she brings technical precision and insights to the executive board.
Before serving as Secretary for the NSBE DC Professional Chapter, Teisha was the Vice President of the Bowie State University chapter of NSBE in 2018, where she strenghtened student engagement and professional development. Her background in digital forensics has equipped her with strong analytical and investigative skills, which she uses to maintain structure within the organizations operations.

Richard Ezike
Membership Chair
Richard Ezike is a Transportation and Energy Infrastructure Specialist with extensive experience managing federal grant programs, leading complex transportation and clean energy initiatives, and advising on sustainable mobility policy. His background includes project management roles at Argonne National Laboratory, the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, and the Urban Institute, where he has overseen multimillion-dollar programs, built strong stakeholder relationships, and delivered measurable outcomes.
Within NSBE, he has served multiple leadership positions on the NSBE DC Board and Region 2 Professionals Board. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of the NSBE Energy Special Interest Group.
Ava Williams
Collegiate Initiative Chair
Fun facts: She has been recognized for her contributions to the field as a recipient of the Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) Modern-Day Technology Leader Award and she met her husband in the DC chapter.

Yvette Selby
Pre-Collegiate Initiative Chair
Yvette Selby is a visionary STEM education leader and founder of Y’S STEM Innovation, dedicated to empowering youth through culturally responsive, high-impact STEM enrichment. With over 25 years of experience in environmental policy (retired EPA), engineering outreach, and program design, she partners with schools, community organizations, and professional networks to build pathways for the next generation of Black engineers and innovators.
A proud NSBE lifetime member, 28 year NSBE DC member and PCI advocate, Yvette continues to advance equity, excellence, and empowerment in STEM education. She has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University, and ME in Civil (Environmental) Engineering from Howard University.
Kayla Lakine
Publications/Public Relations Chair
Kayla Lakine is a recent graudate of North Carolina A&T State University who recently relovated to Washington, D.C. from Atlanta Georgia.
As an emerging leader in the field of civil engineering, Kayla is driven by a commitment to designing sustainable infrastructier that uplifts communities. She looks forward to helping advance NSBE's mission through publications in order to continue the chapters legacy.

Taylor Jackson
Telecommunications Chair
Taylor Jackson earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech and has 3+ of experience working as a Software Engineer in Cloud Computing at DigitalOcean, Inc., where she pioneers innovative applications and technology initiatives to empower others. She is now pursuing her Ph.D. in Information Sciences and Technology at George Mason University.
Her passion for NSBE began in high school as a NSBE Jr. member, and she continued her involvement in college, serving on her chapter’s executive board. Taylor is deeply committed to STEM, education, community engagement, and mentorship. She currently serves as an Advisor for her former NSBE Jr. chapter. In her free time, she enjoys soccer, running, and attending music festivals with friends.
